A hard chrome coating extends the lifespan of machine components and reduces maintenance downtime and expenses also useful in repairing damaged, worn or mis-machined parts.

Hard chrome plating is an electroplating process in which extremely hard chromium layer is deposited from a chromic acid solution. Thickness of hard chrome plating ranges from 5 to 100 microns, hardness of the layer will be 600 to 1000 HV.

Hard chrome plating reduces friction between machine parts and  improves component  durability.

Hard chrome plating is still popular due to its corrosion resistant wear resistant properties

Hard chrome plating can apply to a wide variety of base metals to strengthen an equipment component without compromising its original properties.

At “ SURFTECH” we have all process controls infrastructure in place to meet customer specifications consistently.

The strength and durability of hard chrome plating make it extremely beneficial in a variety of applications, such as:

  • Hydraulic cylinders
  • Piston rings
  • Automotive parts like caliper pistons, pins etc.,
  • Rotors and shafts for pumps
  • Molds, dies and other forms
  • Rollers and bearings
  • Valves and gates
  • Compressors
