Rilsan Nylon 11 coating is widely used to protect a variety of metal substrates such as steel & aluminum. It is applied either electrostatically or in a fluid bed. It protects a wide variety of applications from corrosion to crash and abrasion. Nylon coatings are thermoplastic polyamide coatings and are under the category of protective coatings in paints and coating classification.
Nylon 11 Coatings (Rilsan Nylon 11) are a polyamide that is naturally derived from vegetable oil . We choose to use Nylon 11 coatings since it has a low environmental impact, consume less non-renewable resources when shaped, and has a better thermal resistance. It is used in high-performance applications such as automotive, office furniture, and appliances. Nylon is the material of choice for the most difficult applications due largely to its unique mixture of thermal, physical, chemical, and mechanical properties. Together, the result is an great cost-performance ratio. Another unique quality of Nylon is that it meets autoclave requirements, making it ideal for any industry.
Nylon 11 powder coating is a Polyamide naturally derived from vegetable oil (Castor Beans) that defends against harmful abrasion and corrosion. This coating has low Green environmental impact, consumes less non-renewable resources when produced, and has a superior thermal resistance. Nylon powder coating also offers chemical resistance, physical durability, thermal resistance, low surface friction, and substantial impact protection, which can improve product durability.
At Surftech Engineering, we can apply nylon coating Electrostatically or in a Fluid Bed, depending on the customer specifications.
Nylon Coating is carried out thro’ process controls to get consistency in meeting customer
specifications.
Salt spray life of 2000 hours minimum is easily achievable in nylon coatings compared to
other similar coatings.
When applying Nylon coating Electrostatically, our extremely trained technicians use automatic dispensation and manual spray techniques to spray the part with a dry powder that is fluidized with air and post-cured. Nylon coating is applied through a dip process in which the part is preheated and dipped into a dry powder fluidized with air and then post-cured. Our technicians generally apply fluid bed Nylon coating with a thickness ranging from 5 to 40 thousandths of an inch, or mils.
